Cowboy Action Shooting is a multifaceted shooting sport where competitors compete with firearms typical of those used in the Old West: single action revolvers, lever action rifles, and double barreled, side by side, pre-1899 pump, or lever action shotguns. The range is staged in a unique, characterized, "Old West" style. Each participant adopts a shooting alias appropriate to a character or profession of the early 19 th century or a Hollywood western star, and creates a costume to match according to their character. This alias is used at every monthly competition or special event held by the society.

What is cowboy action shooting all about?

Cowboy action shooting places importance on the late 19 th century cowboy days. Each member of the club gives themselves an alias and dresses in costume according to their alias. The shooters compete with firearms in an "Old West" style using single action revolvers, lever action rifles, sawed off shot guns, or derringers.
